We might be biased, but we think our team is made up of some of the friendliest people around. We want to get to know you, since we will be a part of each other’s lives for the next couple of years. We want to make sure every visit is fun for you, so that you will look forward to coming back to see us!
We have our very own coffee bar in our Moorhead reception area, to bring that extra smile to your face every time you visit us. That means as many lattes, smoothies, or Italian sodas as you would like, free of charge. Our baristas are always happy to help you pick out a new drink too.
Kids love our smoothies, blended while they watch. We often have seasonal flavors, so be sure to ask us.
We are especially proud of our coffee. We use state-of-the-art machines, we are absolutely persnickety about the beans that we use, and our lead barista Tom has traveled the country training on techniques to craft your perfect cup!
Games for Kids
We have games for kids in the reception area, in our exam rooms, and at the dental chairs. Kids love this! It helps to minimize any dental anxiety, as well as keep patients’ siblings occupied during visits that might otherwise be boring to them. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for new games!
Our Lobby is a Social Destination!
We love how our reception area transforms most days after school into a social destination. People are moving around, chatting, enjoying some coffee and relaxing, and it feels much more like a coffee shop than a healthcare facility.
Meet our therapy dog Remington! He usually goes by Remmie.
Remmie is at work at the Moorhead office every day, and takes his job seriously. He loves to hang out and meet new people in the reception area, and spread some smiles. Sometimes he visits patients in the chair, if they are especially nervous and need a dog to cuddle with.
Remmie is a Cavachon, which is a mix between Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Frise breeds. This means that his coat is hypo-allergenic hair rather than fur, which we know is important to many of our patients. He has a gentle and loving disposition, but he loves to play too! He spends a part of every day in the back office, so if you want to see him at your appointment, just let your dental assistant or the front desk team know, and he will come out to visit you before you leave.
Remmie has his own too, so you can keep up with him in between appointments!
We feel so lucky to live in areas with such active arts scenes. We love filling both of our offices with local and regional art. Ask us about some of the pieces next time you are in our offices.
Don’t worry if you are coming straight from school or work; we have a brushing station so you can prepare for your visit. Our brushing station has two sinks and is stocked with pre-pasted toothbrushes, floss, and mouthwash.
We love the service ethic of the communities we live and work in, and we do our best to be good neighbors too!
We feel strongly that orthodontics can change people’s lives for the better. That is why we founded Community Smiles, a non-profit program that trades orthodontic treatment for community service hours, for candidates who have no other way to afford orthodontic treatment. We love this program because it encourages children to engage with their communities and pay it forward! Please contact our office for application criteria and materials prior to scheduling an appointment.
Involved in our Community
We love to help support many of the causes and organizations that our patients are involved with. We want to do our part to help encourage and foster civic-mindedness in our younger patients too.
We participate with Dollars for Scholars, and provide scholarships for graduating seniors in Moorhead, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, and Detroit Lakes.
If you would like to contribute or participate with an organization that you are involved with, please fill out our Application for Donation form.

We love teaching kids how to take care of their smiles! We put on fun educational programs from time to time, to help teach kids about their teeth and how to take care of them with great brushing, flossing, and eating habits. If your class, preschool, organization or daycare is interested in joining us for an event or field trip, please call our office to inquire!
Dr. Harvey makes sure that every day in our office is a fun one, and loves getting to know all of our patients and their families. He is board-certified, with over 25 years of experience and a deep commitment to improving the lives of his patients through orthodontics. He received his doctorate from Johns Hopkins University, and completed his orthodontic training at the University of Minnesota. He and his beautiful wife Sheryl have been married for 30 years. They have three wonderful grown children who all contribute in different ways to the practice. Dr. Harvey and Sheryl share a love of animals and animal rescue. They have a lively household, with several cats and dogs of all sizes!
As a board certified orthodontist and member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Dr. Ames has the specialized training to help you achieve your perfect smile. During his residency at Ohio State University, Dr. Ames had the opportunity to train with such greats as Dr. Henry Fields and Dr. Kathryn Vig. They literally wrote the book on orthodontics! When he isn’t straightening teeth he can be found with his high school sweetheart, Laura, and their four fun-loving kiddos.
